The best way to reduce class sizes, create and maintain more parks and open spaces, and keep our communities healthy and safe is to grow businesses that create good jobs.  Oregon funds its state services primarily through income taxes.  Because Oregon has struggled to create enough high paying jobs, we have a hard time paying for our schools and other public services.  The interactive tool below shows how many more teachers, police and firefighters, library hours and parks Oregon could support if it grew jobs and wages at a pace similar to Washington State or even just the national average.
